I am a senior interested in a small digital pocket camera to take photos of scenery, family, etc. I've narrowed my search down to a Samsung SL620 (12 megs/5X) or an Olympus Stylus 9000 (12 megs/10X). The Olympus is over $100. more than the Samsung and I'm not sure if the 10X is worth the extra $$$. Does anyone know which camera is the best, easiest to use, etc? Any info will be much appreciated.

The STYLUS-9000 is a pocket-friendly camera which hides an amazing 10x wide-angle optical zoom, so you can take impressive shots in a flash. Meanwhile the SL620 is a basic point-and-shoot. Its main objective is facilitating ease of use, and the SL620 does it well. It not only has some good automatic settings, include an automatic scene mode and full auto, but also includes a demonstration mode and full help menu. When it comes to pixels they are most likely the same. When it comes to price SL620 costs $199.99 and the Stylus costs $350 price. You can definitely compare which is more economical. I got this info at 199Bongo. If you want to know more which one is better you can ask 199Bongo and it will give you an overview which is which. Just text your query to 22999 and it will answer in just a few minutes. Good luck, hope you choose the right one for you. wink.gif

By comparing just features and prices of both cameras, I will say go for the SL620 because I don't think getting an additional 5x zoom worth $100. However, by thinking about brands, I would suggest to get the Olympus. Although Samsung is good at LCD monitors and TV, it is not known to be good at digital cameras. It's just my opinion.

Hope this help!
