Does anyone know of upcoming compacts with full HD video (1080i) capability? There is a Canon SLR with that feature, but all compacts seem to sport 720i where they have HD. Are there any compacts planned to have full HD and when is it likely to be available? Informed comment very welcome.

I have one for you. It's Canon Powershot SX1 IS. However, its price is almost $600.

Thanks for that, you are quite right. I should have been more precise - by 'compact' I really mean pocket-size - eg the Panasonic TZ7, but with the full HD that the Canon has. I understand it's a question of them developing the CMOS sensors small enough to carry full HD info. Regards
