new to this website, found it as I am planning to buy a new camera. I've been the normal compact digital camera photographer for many years, but getting bored to problems with pictures in low light conditions, and probably would like to take a step to making some more artsy photos.
Somehow I ended up in wanting to buy the new Olympus E-P1 PEN, as it is "semi-compact" with possibility to change lenses. It also looks neat, and has nice art-modes, also in video.

I really would like to buy it, but it is still rather expensive, well, not too, as here in Thailand it costs only around 600€ compared to 750 in EU.
BUT, i dont know sheit about the lenses, of which they have 2 options:
- M. ZUIKO DIGITAL 17mm (corresponds 34mm) 1:2.8 Pancake lens
- M. ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm (28-84mm) 1:3.5-5.6
I might go for the pancake lens, which they say it is a wide angle lens. I am not too impressed with the 3xzoom lens.. what do you guys think.?
I would like to take pictures outside when traveling around, sometimes of course people with in them, sometimes blurry-ish etc.. which one would be good for me.. of these two options?
THEN, THE HEADACHE, I bumbed into this kinda cool and very compact camera with nice zoom capabilities and the lens looks to beed quite the same as with PEN.. (or is it at all)
Also the flash is a nice "extra" compared to PEN, but do i really need flash if the camera can take good pictures in low-light conditions...? (the price is around 200€ which is a lot cheaper)

SONY lense specs:
F 3.5-4.4 (only either of these two apertures can be used, nothing in between)
Focal Length (f= mm) 6.3-63 (corresponds 38-380mm)
Are these two cameras even comparable at all, for my purposes, and the lenses are they comparable at all, or am I missing some important specs (I admit, still new to all this language, depth of field -stuff etc..? The emphasis should be in the quality of pictures, I am willing to sacrify the easiness of taking photo and want to learn more. The size matters also, but should I just give up with the pocket-sized cameras if I want to become a photographer (instead of photographerer
As you see, too many questions are blurring my mind and dunno which direction is should go to,
