I'm thinking about buying a new ball head. Today I'm using a Manfrotto 468MGRC2 hydrostatic ball head that I bought with my old aluminum 055 tripod. it's great even if a little bit heavy...
I have now a new lightweight Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 carbon fiber tripod. I'm looking for the right ball head to put on top of it. Any suggestion?

Manfrotto has a new series of ball heads coming out in september. Read the article on todays home page. There are smaller lighter heads for you to choose from.-Ron

If you didn't buy one for your new tripod, RRS BH-55 is a good choice. light weight but solid and work smoothly.

I may be a bit late posting here, but my vote goes to the Acratech range of heads http://acratech.net/. I have one of the "Ultimate" ballheads and have used it for about 5 years now. Not the cheapest, but possibly the lightest and one of the most reliable ones available. A long term investment.
