Hi - As the title says, I'm new, both to to this forum and to photography. This all started when my old Ixus died on me the other day, and I decided to buy the camera that I want. I just have to sort out what camera that should be...
I have many time consuming hobbies, and I'm not trying to invent an other one, buying a camera. The Idea is to combine what I usually do with good photos.
Typical images will be landscape, skiing action, wild animals, sports events, group photos... and so on. Video to some extent. Size is important - can't risk a lens (or a rib) falling over skiing.
This indicates a "do it all" compact. After reading a lot of reviews and discussions, I have started to think that Panasonic's Tz7 is what I need... or may be not???
My question here is simple - What criterias and qualities should I be looking for in the right camera for me?
My budget is limited on £500 (all included), any suggestions on other cameras that would be "the perfect choice"?
I'm looking forward to hear from you - all tips are appreciated!
Regards
Thomas
