I've been working on a portfolio of tobacco barns, one of our state's versions of a ruin. None of the barns on this webpage is currently in use; most have not been in use in years, as will be apparent. My intention is to write an essay accompanying these haunting, spare structures that speaks to the changing of a way of life. I am a writer and amateur photograper. The images here are all in B&W, mostly 35, with a few MF, but increasingly digital.
