Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way of being alerted (via email or RSS) that new competitions were now open for submissions? Or, perhaps have I just been stupid.
Does anyone know if there is a way of doing this?

Well, I usually post something on the news page for the main monthly competition, which, errmm, always starts on the 1st of the month! 
The Photo of the Week contest always begins every Monday morning.
The myPIXmania contest again starts on Mondays, but every 2 weeks rather than 1.
