| About Me |
Started in photography back when I was about 15, with a fully manual Zenith SLR (Russian, cheap). Therefore learnt the hard way about exposure etc. Moved to a Ricoh with Auto mode at 18, added a Pentax at about 25 when I thought the Ricoh was broken.... then managed to fix it, and had the luxury of two bodies. Went through some 'fallow years' where all I did was take snaps with little inspiration. Bought a compact 'cos it was easier to lug around (and the quality was really good). Come the advent of digital, I again just got a compact. After a year of that, I saw the potential of so much control over the image with digital, and also saw the lack of quality I was missing with the compact, so got myself the lowest entry Nikon DSLR. Fantastic, and got great raves from my friends with the results. Last year I stepped up a bit more to a D300s, and now am looking to challenge myself... so joined the blog to get some reviews and try out the competitions. Also a big rugby fan, so there'll be plenty of them posted... thanks for reading. Mike |
