This is a smoker. By the overhead wires in the capture I would have thought your trains were electric. I don't know much about trains. Maybe freighters are smokers for the needed torque. Don't imagine electrics have much ability to generate torque. This is a beautiful capture; clear and sharp. Like the affect of the headlight; gets your attention. Smoke gives a sense of motion. Good work.
The only steam trains that run here now are preserved ones. (like Oliver here).
They only run on special charters where people pay a lot of money to ride behind one. This one was also dragging a diesel for the return journey as it wasn't coming all the way back to London.
So it is an event when one comes through.
