Oh! I thought this was black & white from the thumbnail. Imagine my surprise upon seeing the green grass. I think this desaturated look works fine, and I think it would also work quite well as a b&w or duotone. The sky looks big & threatening, which is what I imagine it felt like to the people living back then.

What struck me about the capture at first glance was partly touched by Phototoad and R of Chis: I like the angle which takes the viewer up to the roof point to the sky. The sky seems to be parting above the structure. Great composition. It really works as a mood shot. Love the color work mentioned by Chris. You are a fine artist who knows her craft well. Love it! Goes into my Favorites.
