' Harvest Moon '

' Harvest Moon '

I came across these shots of the moon I did last year. After some research I found that it was the ' Harvest Moon ' 05/09/2009 . The Harvest moon happens on the Saturday nearest to the fall equinox which is Sept 23rd. It appears 3 days in succession but it the moon on the Saturday that receives this name , It officially becomes a full moon when it reaches the spot that is opposite the sun It is called the Harvest Moon because the farmers can continue late in to the night by the light of this moon .......... It really was Very ......... very bright !

I can only imagine that it must have been terrifically bright since you were unable to capture any surface feature in this close-up of the moon. Very much appreciated your narrative, too. Thank you.
