I must say, I hope they'll leave them for other photographers to enjoy and capture.

Chop them all down. We need the paper for printing.
(I'm being flippant on purpose. Our hobby and/or craft depends on paper).
Strictly photographically, I think this could stand the tiniest bit more contrast. Don't overdo it, though, as then the trees will be lost in the forest.
