To me, and this is only my take on it, the feature that I like most of your capture is the area of the photo above the ivy. Your over saturation has an interesting consequence to the varied shades of the bark and the surfaces beneath. And, that is the part of your capture that attracts and holds my attention. In this respect your capture is a successful one and a fine creation. The interesting thing about the ivy is that it is the first thing that grabs my attention. But, its contrast to its background leads me to the more interesting aspect of your photograph. By your title, however, I suppose that I have done an awful job of understanding your post. Alas, you are the artist. And, I but a failed novice. So whom am I to question?
Very interesting! I love the big expanse of the bigger tree and the creeping invader intruding in at the bottom. The contrasting textures are very catching too.
