A wonderful composition but it seems that the post processing here has left the top quarter wonderfully soft and atmospheric but the rest has become hard and without charm. I think this has the makings of a superb shot but is not there yet.malsmith.com
I studied this for a long time. What a beauty. It is like a painting for all its fine, crisp details and widely varied tones. It seems almost to have a texture to it. This is too good!
If I had a book of photos with only work like this in it, I woud be happy.
Mald - thanks for the positive input - and yes, the top-half was differently processed to the rest. It is a work in progress I'm sure, and any input as to what may work/what will not is gratefully received.
