There are around 6 pairs of black swans on the Fleet (where Abbotsbury is situated), they are not native, but escapees (but they are starting to breed in the wild). They can be quite agressive to the mute swans. this one seems at home though.

mostly all you hear from mute swans is hissing when they are annoyed, they do have a few grunts too.
