yea the lense is a 70 - 300 tamron and when the lense is fully out you can flick a switch and it does macro this photo was tacken without the trypod and you still i needed to stand about 24 inch away from the end of the lense.
I like this picture for the simple fact that the background is totally out of focus, which puts emphasis on the plant. By the way, what kind of plant is it?

Once more Thank you for your comments as for what kind of plant it is im not altogether sure.
It looks like a reed bed or bulrush style plant. The photo was taken at a nature reserve between the trees and a lake but at the time the ground round it was dry.
