Mont Sainte Victoire

Mont Sainte Victoire

Favoured by Cézanne. I followed his walk from his house up to the mountain where he painted over 80 versions of this mountain. I have nothing but admiration for Cézanne who believed he never captured the beauty of this magnificent mountain. I have tried too. If you'd like to see a larger version of this photograph:

Wonderful light - the bigger version on your website really does justice to this - the details are amazing - the sort of picture you could spend hours lookig at. Cezanne would have been proud of this.

Thank you Clyde and toronto. It's three shots merged together which partly explains the detail. Cheers, Mal

What a stunning scene. I can't imagine what you felt to walk the same path! How long is this image, Mal? I thoroughly enjoyed taking in the detail of this on your site. Thank you for including the link. Superb workSmileCat

Hi Cat, it was fairly humbling. The high resolution version is actually five (not three as above) images stitched together and is 106 cms wide at 300ppi. Thanks for your kind words. Cheers, Mal
