This photo was the result of discovery when I was experimenting shooting different materials and playing around with light. After one of my shots I realized what it looked like, then intentionally went after this shot.
To me it looks like the sun rising above the mountains and casting its light on the waters. Because of the rays it looks like the sun, but because of the harsh shadows and silver light, it almost has a lunar appearance, giving the photo an other-worldly feel.
To get this shot, I laid a blue sheet on a table, then a sheet of saran wrap, and mounded sand in front of a small mag light flashlight.
