It's cold out there guys, just playing around with some portraits.I set up a canon 580ex and a 550ex as slaves. The lens a canon 85 1.8.I was very pleased with the tones in this B&W portrait of my father.
Good lighting (maybe a little too much). I am disturbed by the small red eye that I see in the right eye (Am I wrong ?). This is because of the great preciseness of this picture . Could you copy the left pupil in the right eye ?
You got it... You get one point more You know, the difficult one
I don't thing you can get a better result using flashes. You really need powerfull lightning to have the WYSIWYG feeling...
sorry posted the wrong one,too many x-mas partys this week.this is the final post....thanks Herve for your help

Of all your shots of your dad, I think I like this one the best. The newer one just has a bit too much burnout on the forehead and hand, and the gaze is directed away from rather than toward the camera. I like this directness very much, and the contrasts are very beautiful. The unusual darkness of the eyes is very familiar to me. Consider getting one of him smiling - or ask him an odd question and capture his immediate expression. He typically has a rather somber expression. You should keep doing these, fd, I know there's a POW coming for one of these.
thanks efton I like this one the best also, smiling not sure,he does not like me taking photo's of him as you can tell.I keep telling him I am testing the camera out. That does not work anymore.thanks for looking.
