I would grasp your perspective much better if it weren't for those distracting poles. I could ignore the one on the far right. But, the other two are virtually dead center. And, though they are blurred which de-emphasizes their importance to the viewer their position in the frame makes their affect unavoidable. It is sort of like placing a forest in front of a sky and asking the viewer to ignore the forest and appreciate the sky. See what I mean?
The perfect contrast between the white houses and the dark sky is very good. The scene is well composed but I'm not sure that the poles presence is right. In a way they seem a good frame,as watching from a window, in other way they are a bit distracting. Mah! I don't know, perhaps I must watch the photo again and again. Ciao Alan.
I think you are both right, the poles (lights) are a distraction, guess what, I didn't see them when I took the photograph!!! two steps forward and it would have been a whole lot better.
