I used a .38m, 1.3 f, lens fitted with a rainbow filter to take this shot. I used side lighting and placed the ring on a blue gel to get some shine. The ring is the symbol of marriage or partnerships between two people for many cultures. I used my own wedding ring which is a little battered and tarnished. I wanted the shot to look worn as the ring is but I wanted the filter to add sparkle to the shot. This shot symbolises my marriage which still has all the sparkle of our wedding day, even thought the symbol of love which my husband gave to me is a little worse for wear.
