Royal Scots Greys statue

This is the memorial statue for the Royal Scots Greys who left Edinburgh in 1899 to fight in the South African War. Unveiled in 1906 by Lord Rosebury, it stands proudly in the western part of Edinburgh's Princes St Gardens, opposite Frederick St.

I really like this silhoutette - you can even make out the hairs on top of the statue's hat!

Indeed it is a nice pic, I think those hairs are bird preventing things, I've seen some of them on heads of statues in France once.
Makes you like twice!

blah... forgot to comment.

I really like the silhoulette and composition of the piece, but to me the lower left corner of the sky really distracts me from the statue.
