Very fine bird capture. Lovely perspective.

Are you from Vancouver, B.C.? A lovely city. Been there once. Have the most wonderful impression of Vancouver, Victoria, and Western Canada. A truly wonderful land and wonderful people. Welcome to the Blog.

Thank for the compliment and the welcome to the blog! And yes, I am from Vancouver. I spend many enjoyable hours prowling the Reifel Bird Sanctuary with my camera. It's only a Lumix G2 with the 100-300 Panasonic lens, but I enjoy it - and it's quite an improvement on my old camera. I'd like to post more pictures, though they won't be up to the standards of most of the posters here. :-)

Agree with Bob, this is a beutiful bird shot. Unusual and well defined. Like the fine bokeh and the colours too.

P.S. If I can : post your photos without problems, here we all learn each other day by day. Welcome Smile

Bjeast, the only standard you need to worry about is the standard you place on yourself. Take me for example - I am admittedly no more than a snap shooter who sometimes gets it right. This photo trumps my best on any day. There are many levels of capability here on Mark's Blog. The thing to keep in mind is that the Blog is Mark Goldstein's Blog. No one else makes the rules. Always remember that, with respect to any criticisms you may receive. And, I've never been criticized by Mark. So, post away. And, welcome again.

Again, thanks for the nice comments and the welcomes. Roberto, I got lucky with the bokeh. Really need to learn more about learning to control that a bit with aperture settings and all.
