A very unusual shot angle, seems to me. Normally, bird captures in flight seem to be taken from below with full horizontal wings spanned. You perspective here is unique in that the bird seems to be coming down and about to strike or land, thus the high vertical of the wings to its body. Terrific capture of the birds face. Seems like he is holding his breath just before the strike. Love those orange eyes. Wonderful coloration. Excellent pose you managed here with very fine clarity and details for an action capture.
