This is an egret - beautiful photo. You might also care to look at some more on this website, which has a number of more unusual poses: http://www.nature-wildlife.com/egret0.html and also treatment in similar poses that include reflection of the egret in the water. Yours has great clarity and if you could get some more, we'd LOVE to see them!
I stalk the birds like a hunter. I longest lens right now is a Canon 70-200mm f/4 L, until I can save up for a 300mm f/4 L with 1.4x tele, I need to get use out of my real tree suits and stalking skills. Makes for more of a challange!!
