The Ageless Few

On Weald of Kent I watched once more
Again I heard that grumbling roar

Of fighter planes; yet none were near
And all around the sky was clear

Borne on the wind a whisper came
"Though men grow old, they stay the same"

And then I knew, unseen to eye
The ageless Few were sweeping by.

Lord Balfour Of Inchrye. 1947

An excellent aerial capture. Seems almost a painting. I can identify the Mustang and the Lancaster. The other would be a guess. A Spitfire?

Great shot and this man hasn't grown up either. Love the verse, a great tribute to a defining moment in our history. BOBWED there aint no Mustang there. It's a Hurricane on the far side.
There are lies, damnable lies and statistics.

Hi Bobwed, thanks for the praise. Camel76 is right, the silver one is a Spit. The Mustang is a beautiful machine though.

thanks Camel76, a friend of mine, a fellow WW2 enthusiast, showed me the poem. It seemed to fit.
