Yes. Woodie wagons were all the rage back in the 1960's when surfing was a big thing in Southern California. I notice that this is a Buick, too. That was a pretty rare car for a Woodie wagon. Most Woodies of the era, as I recall were Fords or Mercury's. But, the most beloved Surf wagon was not a Woodie at all. It was the two-door 1956 Chevy Nomad. That was the Surf wagon icon, as I recall. While the simple utility of the wagon was synonymous with the idea of surfing so was the name: Nomad. Like a surfer wandering the world looking for the next wave. Foot-loose & free.
I like the background - the malt shop or drive in. Yes, that's where we all met-up or hung out with the babes between waves.
