These things are always beautiful, but it looks like you might have a little bit of blocking up going on (detail smearing together to a flat dark field). Without being able to see EXIF data I can't really offer advice how to help, but I can relate that when it's happened to me it's been because I've pushed some type of post processing too far. I often like to adjust to BW by using channel sliders, and some of them can be adjusted more than others.
It's great to see flowers shot in different ways than all the standard calendar shots everybody takes, and I definitely encourage you to continue trying for new things.
This time I did so hard dedicated processing, because I like sometimes experimenting and I liked so extreme. This isn't coincidental, I can publish also completely usually.
