The history of my photographical life, in cameras. A 1959 Agfa Silette, which I still use for doing film photography. My second compact, used for a walking about camera. & the camera that captured the pair of them, my Pentax K-X. I love them all for different reasons. The Agfa is a simple fixed 50mm lens camera, with a f2.8 lens & 'full manual modes' as we'd term it now! Compacts give us all great practicality, little fuss & weight. The SLR for all the 'more important' stuff. I don't see the point in getting too grandiose about cameras; there's alway that moment when you wish you'd had a better camera with you, but without the compact camera, how many photos would have passed us by completely?
An excellent 'look back' capture. Thank you for your reflective and insightful narrative, too. Must say, I wish my experience had been so simple and straight lined. Sadly, I've destroyed more cameras than I care to remember from all the adventures I took them on. But, they made the experiences memorable as they each produced photos of those memories for me. Thank you for your post.
