Just before the launch my team would have to go to the cape for a check out of the fairing and the payload system . Just after launch and at a certain altitude the Solid Rockets were detached . Then a small voltage was sent to the fairings to separate from the payload . Then the payload would detached from the first stage and a small rocket wold lift the satellite to it orbit height .
Then my job was done till the next launch ???
Your job just gets more interesting Charles,i dont know much about rocket's and missile's.but you make it sound's very complex, the diagram helps with your narrative to understand what you had to do. Angela
love your self
Thank you Angela It as a great job at that . But when Boeing took over McDonnell Douglas every thing change and we lost a lot of our engineers and a lot of people got laid off ? Boeing may have know how to make aircraft ? But they new nothing about rockets ????? So after that the job got boring so I retired ????
Now instead of working on rockets & torpedoes ? I now shoot birds ???????? Go figure ? You never know were just life will take you ???
Good stuff Charles, guys (and girls) like technical stuff. How ironic now the Shuttle has retired rocket launched satellites are more needed than ever.
There are lies, damnable lies and statistics.
