Iso left on Auto and shutter speed far too high ,you were right Angela ,they were too dark.

I quite like the composition but it has a colour cast, if you open a colour balance adjustment layer and set the levels to -6, 0, -40 for the midtones and -10, 0, -10 for the highlights, although not perfect the image is a lot closer to how I think it should look?
