Beautiful pic. This is what bothers me--at this size I think this is a toddler just learning to walk, right? I guess that from the title mostly. However, the beauty of the color and landscape leave me almost overlooking the child entirely reducing what I believe is the intended effect. The lines of the photo draw my eye past the child and into the horizon. I would like to see a bit more of the child and the road and reduce the stunning surrounding a bit (save that for a landscape shot). I also want to have a stronger visual of that lovely toddler "wadddle" that I can barely discern with the child being so small in this picture. I see that you are trying to emphasize the smallness of the child with the large surrounding--unfortunately it's not working for me. I think it would work better if it was the length of the road ahead used to bring that out with the child being a bigger part of the picture. Lovely color.

So: yes, he was nearly two at the time of the shot so indeed he had that 'wobbliness' in his walk and that is what "I saw" and obviously recognise in the photo. I agree with your comments and I suppose the lesson learned here is that you need to 'standback' from what you know and assume the viewwer knows nothing . (duh! some would say, but really important to bear in mind!)
