Unexpected and awe inspiring, continuous rainfall resulted in floods that inhabitants of Navsari, India could only have imagined. Livestock, homes, and ultimately, human life, were targeted indiscriminately. Walking through the aftermath, as I, the photographer, look down at my feet, the image may capture my own superficial reflection. When I consider, however, the impact the natural disaster has on those it befalls, it is the fragility of human life that I recall - a sobering reflection upon the higher forces that be.
Just discovered this photo and like it, together with the narrative, very much. Considering what has happened in New Orleans recently, this strikes very close to home. 8 for the photo and 1 for the story.
