To Seeham, Peter, Bubbleduck, and Sangrio: I'm sorry you didn't leave any comments. I'd very much like to hear your critiques. Thank you for voting.

Great photo which does not deserve a 3.I have the feeling there is some jealousy going on here.Have a look at the votes on the austin boxcar in this competition, who gave it a top rating and gave yours and a few others really low scores.
I suspect the same thing, but with the benefit of doubt, I have asked these folks for some feedback. There are several terrific photos in this category that were rated very low, so I am suspect. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Nynavey: I rated this picture low because I felt that all it showed was a lot of patience on your part. I didn't really see anything technically interesting in the picture. It's good as a macro photograph, but that's all I can see in it to interest me.
Like you said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so you can feel completely differently about things.
Fair enough bubble. One man's good exposure or depth of field is another man's lack of focus. To each his own. When are you going to post some of your own work?

As I have said elsewhere there is some strange marking going on in this forum. Anyone would be pleased with this shot (I wish I could do it . . .all my pictures are rubbish!) . . . But, in my opinion, this is not an award winner. Depth of field problems may be due to the lens, light and speed but they are problems when viewing the picture critically.
As I have said.I believe the three of them are the same person.Unless they are triplets that is bubbleduck, sangrio and maithili.Amazing how they seem to give the same low and high scores.I would really like to see some of their work as well.Unless off course they or he or whatever are the owners of the photos they, or he gives high scores to.I am an old lady and I am quite amused.
Great macro shot. I agree with tootsie. A lot of the markings seem to be given at the same times for these users too. They tend to give very high marks if they like a pic or very low marks if they don't.
Guess I've stirred up some passion here... Sangrio and I are friends and posted our comments at about the same time after registering. We are not the same person nor do we know Bubbleduck.
Gavdavies is right - we did rate the photos according to which ones we liked and disliked... there is no rule that says we can't do that.
