Man I wish I was "Gone Fishing" or least gone anywhere. Must have been a beautiful day. Has anyone come up with a good formula to reduce the Jgeg artifacts or otherwise improve the clarity of uploads? I've been told to use a resolution of 72 and lower file size. Anyway I'm going to figure this thing out or blow this off because I can't stand seeing my images mutilated.
Be Cool, don't freeze...
Hi Lil rsolution should be 72, do you sharpen after or before you resize ? sharpening should be your last step.

If you're using Photoshop, choose Bicubic Sharper as the Image Resize option, and as fdinaro says leave any sharpening to the very last step before you save the final version of the file. Fred Miranda (www.fredmiranda.com) has a range of plugins that may help.
Ultimately though, reducing your photos to a 200Kb, 600 pixel wide/high web format is always going to be something of a compromise.Mark Goldstein Editor, PhotographyBLOG
Outstanding artistic composition! I love the way it exhibits a story to the viewer. What a bonus to have captured a wonderful cloud over the horizon. Well done Frank!
