Actually, the blurring of the background was intentional. I wanted to emphasize the overhanging Japanese maple leaves which frame the image, rather than trying to get everything in the picture sharp.
Daydreamer made a good point about focus. Lower third foreground seems a problem to me, which should be in more focus, as the mind and eye want it to be. Overhanging leaves are beautiful and really like the middle ground with bridge and trees.
This is a very difficult shot to achieve in trying to use the overhanging leaves to frame the comp. In my opnion you have done a nice job of capturing this moment but I have to agree with etfon the foreground would benefit from being sharper in focus.
