I tried black and white and yea, it does give it another style which I quite like. Tried focusing on the eyes, but the camera only seemed to want to focus on its self! Out of the two images of myself, not sure which one I prefer, so please feel free to add any comments and criticism!!

They're referring to the comment I made on your mirror image post, allsorts. Of course I knew you were 15 but one has to book months ahead at The IvyWink

Does your Finepix have a manual setting? This would solve the problem with the camera focusing on itself. Like the composition. Good work, keep it up.

and exactly how old are you? lol! Yes, it does have a manual setting but not sure how to use it! Do you have any interesting suggestions for a different self portrait that I can try? Thanx for the comment muldoon!

Very nice image.. creative, however, if YOU are the person in this photo-by all means do more self portraits. Nice

As old as Methuselah and as young as Spring! I'm sure you've got a timer on your camera. You could use that so the camera doesn't have to appear in your shot. you'll have to find out how to set the manual setting though. Play around with lighting. If you're shooting BW, ordinary domestic lighting's fine. Have a look around here, there are plenty of self portraits that might give you ideas. Do a search for self portraits and check the 'all fields' button. Good luck

I prefer hand held sps. Make sure that the light is right, and that your background is how you want it, (or all the same colour if you want to cut your image out of it) stretch your arm out, and snap as many shots as you want. If you have a continuous drive on a quick shutter speed, you can have fun pulling as many faces as you want. The great thing about digital is that you don't have to pay to develop the pics, and you can delete as many as you want. With this method though, you should have some fun pics that you might want to keep.
