Interesting. The white sky(?) works for me. The rain drops add something different to the image, the colour and use of space is great.
-ves, the flowers are a bit droopy (this seem to be the rule for flower studies either perfect specimens or decayed); the dark center, some flash fill could have done the trick, if the 300D had FEC control, or reflector.
I really really love the top half of the photo, the background, rain drops, the lighting...but the lower half just doesnt work, the colours dark and dank. If it was all like the top half it would be a 9 for me.
