This has a pre-Raphaelite look about it, romantic and subtle. The bird 'coming home' just adds to the romantic feel. Love it ms.

Ha Ha gaz. Went to Trafalgar Square and got a job lot. This one's mine! Thank you for the rating.

zafiro and desertpea, thank you kindly too, the bird was a bit of an also-ran as flamingos live here in the Summer.

This is a beautiful shot! It puts me in the "Mid Summer Nights Dream" mood!
I find nothing corny with this image. This is not a me too shot. The dreamy
quality is what we need more of! I've been staring at it for minutes, nice job

Thank you donmac, frog and alfiebasher. It does look like a Victorian stage set with a painted backdrop but is, in fact, a straight shot of the garden of a cottage in the park with the Palace behind. It was misty and the use of a 90mm lens + UV filter isolated the foreground. All I needed to do in PS was desaturate in hue/saturation, add some colour to the sky (new layer>gradient>colour) and, sorry donmac and frog, the bird.Sad
It is a very old lens, I wonder if that helpedSmile!

I hope that addresses your comment, Badger.

I rather like the bird myself, its all down to personal taste. I like PS work, I think pictures can benefit from careful adjustments, artists using paint and pencil have been altering scenes since day one so why can't we now there are tools for us to use?
