White Christmas

This was taken last xMas, it is a 7 minute exposure, it was pitch black and REALLY cold. The orangey light is Glasgow in the distance. The picture was taken on the shores of the Lake of Menteith, the ONLY 'lake' in Scotland...

What a great shot. And another great idea for me to experiment with. Smile Any tips on how to focus a shot like this?

I think this is one of the most beautiful shots I have seen in some time, I love snow scenes, and this is nigh on perfect. Would have liked it slightly darker maybe, cos I couldn't decide whether it was day or night until I read the 7 sec exp. This doesn't detract away from a classy image though. Smile

Thanks all for the very kind words! donmac, as for the focusing the word I'd use is 'carefully'...;-) but seriously, I carry a flashlight and unless I am focussing on infinity I use that to try and focus kind of accurately. Ther are some other night experiments on my blog here: http://imagesby.me.uk/photoblog/cat_night_photography.html
