Exellent composition, possibly too tightly cropped near the head, but a lovely pose, spot on imho.

beautiful! well done, only thing I would have liked is a bit more light to highlight the blue of the eye, but hey, you cant have everything!

Thanks Gaz,apreciated as always.I actually did'nt crop this one as this was how it came out of the camera.I think i got carried away with the fact that i was so close to it that i zoomed in just a little too close.

What's happening. Gazmaster makes a criticism and gives this the same rating as an Ansell Adams. This is not wildlife photograph of the year which WOULD rate a 10.

Bridget we never normarily comment on each others photos and im not now.Im just commenting to say that I thought this site was for likeminded people to share their photos no matter how good or how bad and hopefully gleen some constructive critisism from other members,NOT to use your photo or other peoples as a soap box to have a dig at other members whilst recklessly damageing novice photographers confidence.Sorry for any spelling mistakes and over reacting but I bit

Nice photograph and interesting composition. A 10 would seem over the top as the eye is in shadow. tetley-jack, calm down. The site is not necessarily for like-minded people, is it? It would be terribly boring if we all produced the same and all rated each other top marks. Personally, I think we all mark a little higher than would be more interesting. There are too many 8-10 and almost no 1-6. Those ratings are there to be used.

Firstly I totally agree with you TJR.
Badger, I will rate an image with whatever mark I want, If I see an image that I would want on my wall I WILL give it a 10. I gave a POSITIVE criticism unlike your very recently negative attitude towards many others on this blog. Take it for what it is, we all have differing views and will rate and comment differently to one another, we are all entitled to our own opinions, so don't go slating other peoples opinions of what they perceive to be an interesting image. Thank You.

wonderful capture, great composition and detail, don't mind the tight cropping in this instance really is a beaut one to be proud of!

Well done Bridget, this image is clean and sharp and your exposure is nearly perfect...keep up the fine work. I think the number system is abused and often used to slight someones work, true criticism can be better expressed in words. How do you help someone come to grips with exposure, composition, or camera basics with a 1 rating? Most of the 1's I've seen were meted out in anger and retaliation.Photography is and always will be subjective and we will always disagree, thats what a blog is all about, I just think we can disagree better without the numbers. Sorry for the rant...this is only my humble opinion. Smile

WELL DONE ON POTW - LET ME BE THE FIRST TO CONGRATULATE YOU! in future carry a black bin liner, you can lie on it or wear it, it saves the clothes! lol.

congratulations. as I said a couple of days ago, any discussion initiated by a photo is a bonus. live subjects cant be set up like a studio shot so I always rate with that in mind, too.
