Afternoon Raccoon

Afternoon Raccoon

One morning last month I was getting ready to go to a park about 90 minutes away. I decided I wanted to get a portrait of a raccoon; trouble is, raccoons are nocturnal so it wasn't going to happen. Later that afternoon (at the park) I was photographing some horses and I looked over my right shoulder...

Thats adorable, and its a really good shot too, i think the shutter speed is fine. The texture on the raccoon is perfect.

Very nice shot.

Nice shot. Might look even better with a bit of judicious cropping. Is that a hole in his left ear?

I've been searching, trying to find this one again, cause it definitely deserves a nice rating. You obviously have excellent control over your camera, Gary, so you can get down to the business of shooting. I don't know how you do it so consistently.

Think this is also a wonderful shot, but prefer your bird and I cant rate them the same.

Yeah is that a hole in his left ear?

Excellent shot, and I am not going to ask about the ear.Dont think you got close enough to check if he was wearing earrings.

Hole in ear is 3/4 naturally-backlit ear whiskers, left in for detail.
P.S. I went back there yesterday; same time, same place, no raccoon; I would appreciate it if animals would be on a regular schedule.

This is definetley a beautiful shot of a raccoon, considering it usually only comes out at night or early morning, but very unlikely to come out in the daytime, so for that I give you a 9 plus the adorability of this pic is undeniable! Great job Gary.

petit lapin
Too lovely expression, I wish to tell this raccoon "Shall we become friends ?" and expect it to answer : "why not ?!"
Everything looks perfect.
