Lovely shot. The only problem is that to me the lighthouse is very slightly tilted to the left and my eye is drawn to that. Could by caused by the light and the reflection or perhaps its that I've just got new glasses and everything is still a little squiffy! Richard Crowe Visit My Website
Thanks for the comments. The lighthouse does actually tilt over to one side and is no longer functional. I suppose I could have straightened it, but that would be taking away from what it's really like.
Are you sure Gav? The reflection should be a mirror image, but its not, suggesting the image is rotated slightly. I agree with Richard, its a bit of a distraction in what otherwise is a fabulous photo.
Absolutely positive about the natural tilt. I haven't rotated, skewed or even cropped this one (I've just adjusted levels and saturation). I too noticed that the reflection doesn't seem to match up, not sure why it's like that Perhaps some strange phenomenon!!!
Really nice. Great colour and composition. Shooting upward with a wide angle lens can lead to some distortion of tall objects but I dont get the impression that was what you were doing here. I wonder does the opposite work when you shoot down on a reflection of a tall object? I dont think it takes away from the image. Great work.
Congratuations from me too!
