This was actually shot in the wild in Cuba - I have no idea why it let me get so close, but I managed to get quite a few shots of him before he'd had enough.
It was pretty much pitch black, I could actually hardly see him. I had to use flash and focus manually.
It's one of my favourite photos, and looks pretty good at 15x10. Good point about the eye - I half wish you hadn't mentioned it, that's going to bug me now. :-)
