ha ha! I love these little fellas, they are so comical! Never been quite close enough to catch a good shot like this though.
Love the comp and dof.

Poor little puffin! I'd like to have seen Mr Shame-faced in focus or the title changed to 'J'accuse!'. There were some lovely puffin shots in the 26 Nov 2005 'Amateur Photographer', including one that was very much like one that you used to have in your gallery I think.http://janpudney.net/ http://jaypea.redbubble.com/
Wonderful capture.'There is no point pressing the shutter unless you are making some caustic comment on the incongruities of life. That is what photography is all about. It is the only reason for doing it.'......Philip Jones Griffiths
The focussing was deliberate (and for me draws the eye to the stern face of the one on the left first), and @ 400mm on an overcast day the DOF was so narrow I wouldn't have had any chance of getting them both in focus anyway.
LOL, I remember this one, and am surprised to see I hadn`t commented... really great photograph with just the perfect caption. Luv the use of DOF too, it totally adds to this photograph"The poetry of photography will always be more important than the mechanics of the camera..." - J-H. Lartigue
