I love the colours and textures here, glad I looked as the thum is not particularly inviting. to emphapsise the colours and textures as there is not a particularly strong comp, I would crop down a bit from top to eliminate the patch of weary coloured sky and just keep the textures and colours. also if you have Photoshop, try dodging and burning, you'll find the symbols along with the crop tool and others on the menu, set burn to largish selection area and about strength 3 and do a couple of sweeps over reeds,trees, etc (set to shadows) and same with dodge (set to highlights) to pick out extra texure. this can be used on foliage or any similar - have a play with results and see what you think.
A very nice composition, unfortunately its a little over-exposed. Another method for recovering this photo is using levels (Image/Adjutments/levels).
This will bring up a graph showing the pixels in your photo. The lhs shows pure black pixels and the rhs shows pure white, with varying degrees in between. I think your graph will show very few pixels on the lhs. make sure the preview box is ticked and drag the sliders below the graph. Start with the lhs and play with the other two. It might sound complicated but it isnt. Give it a shot. Instant results. I adjust levels on all my photos.
By the way, bright sunshine isnt the easiest to take photos. See if your camera has a sunny setting, and give it a try next time.
