I like the colors too. Maybe the subject is a bit too central.

Thank you Tophee. I didn't think it would look as good with the subject at one side.... less natural.

Love the graffiti and the pose, but have to agree with Tophee about the central subject ... and it's very yellow! Simple b and w could be more effective.

What is this rule about the subject being central? Who made it up and why? Smile

It comes down to the thirds rule I think. The center of attention should be placed at one of the intersections of four lines. two placed at horizontal thirds and two at vertical thirds on the image.
If the centere of attention is at one of these intersections, or near it, then the human brain finds that most comfortable and natural.

It's not so much that someone made a rule and we should follow it because it's a rule.
The rule explains what most people will find to be natural pleasing composition. We should consider it even if we break it as it is a psycological factor in the effect a phot has on people.

Anyway Stewart, it's a great photo, I like it.

Like it. ...and how the dog is staring...

Thanks a lot Paul. That's exactly what I wanted to know! Smile
Thank you Kirkkoja! Smile
add: The dog is called Eddy, and we think that he was in love with me at the time this photo was taken [which may be why he was staring]. As we all thought he was gay, we were very surprised but happy when he fathered puppies earlier in the year. Smile
