White Flower

Any tips on taking photos of white flowers I just can not get it right they always look a little overexposed I have tried many things any tips would be helpfull

You could try spot metering or a little bit of under exposure might work with some photoshop work after to lift the colour back up. I am sure others will be able to give you some better advice. Smile ...Steve

I have tried under exposing and over exposing as well as spot metering I Just havent been able to get the white just right but thank you both for the comments.

This shot is well composed with lovely clean lines and tones. I think that light direction with whites is just as important as exposing for the flower itself, a direct light or very soft light does not allow texture to be show, try more oblique light or backlighting, ie if in garden, early morning sun or evening, or put blooms in shaft of light from window and play till you get a nice effect, use manual setting underexpose until you get the flower ok and then select surrounding area in PS if you want to lighten that a bit, or you can darken it for extra effect and impact...dont know if any of that helps, but seems to work on mine (I hope!) Wink
