I would give you more than a ten if I could. Every thing about it is pretty, the ferns, the rocks in the river bed, the silky water, even the frame is outstanding. I love how the light appears to be hitting certain spots, as if through a forest canopy. It's just lovely. I like it. Amanda

Thankyou very much Alfiebasher for your honest opinion, however I just viewed your portfolio for some inspiration it seems to be rather blown out LOL Wink Harvey

tetley.the rocks in foreground and ferns are not in focus, plus the water is overexposed.if you had looked at your histogram the hotspots would be flashing. This is not slagging your photo off,but constructive critism.but people tend to take offence when someone is trying to help

A very nice picture indeed

Thankyou Alfie for putting me right but I cant help liking this snapshot as it gives me a warm inner glow and fills me with happy thoughts also my concentration was actually on the colours and shadows of the pool of water and on trying to control a rabbit mad Tetleyjackrussel, with me photography is something that happens as a sideline to exercising my little friend if I get a shot worth sharing in my opinion I put it on the site, if I get constructive critisism I dont mind ,but I hope you understand I instantly got on the defensive as I havent seen you about for a while and you reappear like the scythe of photocritique...please dont take offence ,,a gate or something but not a fence .. kenp.whats the point in providing info on photo,s,trying to help them.when you come out with a stupid comment like that!!!!

Alfie, seriously, I think you're missing a point about photography. It's not about each individual technical point. It's not about histograms or focus, or color balance, or white point, or any of those other wonderful qualities we all come to know and, to some point, yes, try to control. It's about the emotional effect the totality of the work delivers to the viewer. This photo delivers that, and is well worth a ten.--Chris
