Not sure what the focal point is here because there are so many distractions. Cropping just below the necklace (or even below the chin, or just unde the lips) would help, but then we have the problem of the fence and foliage behind his right ear. I think part of this man's spirit that comes through in this portrait is his look of pride, even though it's quite evident that he has imperfect skin, and isn't in the "beautiful" class. I think cropping as you have done has helped focus attention on this element.--Chris
